network-manager-openvpn software package provides network management framework (OpenVPN plugin core), you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install network-manager-openvpn
network-manager-openvpn is installed in your system.
Make ensure the network-manager-openvpn package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep network-manager-openvpn *
You will get with network-manager-openvpn package name, version, architecture and description in a table
